Big Kid Studios is a custom cabinetry and woodworking studio based in Kingston, NY. We design and build thoughtfully crafted kitchens, built-ins, furniture, and more—work that blends functionality with playful elegance, grounded in high standards of design, engineering, and material integrity.
Our Story
Founded by Mike Flynn in 2024, Big Kid Studios is the culmination of a lifetime spent building—from childhood skateboard ramps to high-end homes, sculpture, and custom interiors. Mike’s journey began in his grandfather’s woodshop in Maine, where he learned to use a tablesaw at seven years old—and never really stopped making things.
With a background spanning general contracting, studio art, sculpture, and design-build work in New York City, Mike brings decades of hands-on experience and a deep passion for design and craft to every project. His favorite part of the job? Doing hard things well—and bringing both his own and his clients’ ideas to life.
The name “Big Kid Studios” is a nod to those early years, and a reminder that playful curiosity and serious commitment can go
hand-in-hand.
